Picture of Health is the theme of the first of three exhibitions bringing a sampling of diverse visual arts to the South Lobby of Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Picture of Health features artworks that embody, illustrate, or otherwise express concepts of physical, spiritual and mental well-being, addressing the question, “What is your picture of health?”

Picture of Health features original artworks by 16 St. Louis regional artists. The wide range of styles and expressions aims to create an aesthetically rich, uplifting experience for patients, families and staff caregivers, enlivening and elevating the emotional and intellectual atmosphere. Jurors for Picture of Health were nationally exhibited artist Bunny Burson; Sarah Colby, artist and Arts + Healthcare Program Coordinator, The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital; and Jennifer Arvin, Director of Communications & Marketing, Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
