Video Spotlight: In/Of/About Nature


HEC-TV spotlights our late Summer exhibition, In/Of/About Nature, on view through September 1, 2023 in the ASL Gallery. Thanks to HEC-TV and Producer Paul Langdon for this lovely video highlighting our show.

In/Of/About Nature features original artworks by 69 STL regional artists from Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. The works in this new exhibit reflect upon nature, the natural world, and wilderness, including humankind's impact on the landscape. The show includes ceramics, collage, digital art, drawing, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, textiles, wood, and more.

Please join us for a free public reception in honor of this show and the featured artists on Saturday, August 5 from 5-7 p.m. Please note that the Gallery is closed from 3-5 that day so that we can prepare for the reception and doors will open at 5.

Holiday Closings

Art Saint Louis and Catalyst Coffee Bar Gallery are closed Saturday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. We will reopen 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 5. Our exhibition remains on view through July 13.

Honor Awards 2023 features artworks by ten Award-winning STL regional artists who received Awards of Excellence in our 2021 juried exhibits at Art Saint Louis: Ainura Barron, Nancy Exarhu, Brenda Gilliam, Sandy Kaplan, Misato Pang, Adrienne L.J. Patel, Marilyn Robinson, Duenne Schlarman, Den Smith, and Sun Smith-Foret.

Summer 2023 exhibit at Art Saint Louis

Art Saint Louis is pleased to present our Summer exhibition, Honor Awards 2023, on view in the Gallery June 10-13, 2023. The show opens with a free reception on Saturday, June 10 from 4-6 p.m. with a special tasting of Switchgrass Spirits courtesy of artist Brenda Gilliam. Additional complimentary beverages will be served courtesy of Art Saint Louis.

Honor Awards 2023 features 48 recent works in ceramics, digital art, installation, painting, printmaking, and textiles by ten Award-winning artists who received Awards of Excellence in our 2021 juried exhibits.

We are honored to have the opportunity to work with artist Sara Vanderbeek of Austin, Texas as Juror for this exhibition. Vanderbeek is an award-winning artist, curator, lecturer, and gallery owner. Sara was born and raised in St. Louis and holds a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI (2003). Her works are in numerous private collections throughout the U.S.

 

Video Spotlight: Varsity Art 27

spotlights our Spring 2023 exhibition, Varsity Art XXVII, currently on view in the ASL Gallery through March 30.

This year's 27th annual exhibit features original artworks by 43 STL undergrad and grad level art students representing 22 colleges and universities from the St. Louis region (all within 200 miles of Art Saint Louis). We invite you to view this video about our exhibit featuring an interview with our new Executive Director Francesca Passanise.
