In addition to our annual Grape Arts event, Art Saint Louis presents a variety of unique special events.

 


February 6, 2010

Join Art Saint Louis on Saturday, February 6, 2010, from 10-11:30 a.m. as we participate in Kids ArtStart, a free children's art event, held at the Loretto-Hilton Center, 130 Edgar Rd. in Webster Groves, MO. ASL staffer Christine Malinee and artist Claire Medol Hyman will present "Art Cycle: Your Recycle," where they will work with participating children to create original works of art out of recycled materials.

Kids ArtStart is a series of free family events focused on the arts. Held at The Rep on the first Saturday morning of each month from December through April, these events provide young children with an introduction to the arts and give families an opportunity to share the experience. Kids ArtStart events are interactive, entertaining and fun for all ages. Kids ArtStart is hosted by The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis with local arts organizations and members of the artistic community partnering in the presentations.

Dion Appreciation Party
November 15, 2009

MORGAN FORD IN MOTION
October 3, 2009

Thank you to everyone who joined Art Saint Louis at the Morgan Ford in Motion Music & Street Festival on Saturday, October 3, 2009, from 12 noon-9 p.m. We hosted a booth and Art Saint Louis member artists Corinne Didisheim and Bob Hartzell joined us to printmaking demonstrations. Morgan Ford in Motion also featured interactive performances, street art & music.

Thank you to everyone who joined us Friday, February 20, 2009 for a special Grape Arts XVII Preview Event held at KitchenK Restaurant in downtown St. Louis at 1000 Washington Avenue.

KitchenK served up delicious appetizers from their menu and wine was poured & presented by several of our fantastic Grape Arts XVII wine hosts representing Chandler Hill Vineyards, PRP International, and Vino Vitae.

In addition to the great food & wine, artist and ASL Board Member Terrell Carter and paper mosaic artist Benji Rowan were both on-hand creating the artworks that they are donating for our Grape Arts XVII Signature fund raiser to be held March 22. Guests talked with the artists and watched the creative process in action as the artists create unique artworks to benefit Art Saint Louis.

 


 

AN EVENING WITH HARPER BARNES

 

Thank you to everyone who joined us on August 21, 2008 from 5:30-7 p.m. for An Evening in the Gallery with celebrated St. Louis journalist and author Harper Barnes, who discussed his third book, Never Been A Time: The 1917 Race Riot That Sparked the Civil Rights Movement (Walker & Company, 2008).

Harper Barnes is a longtime editor and cultural critic for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. A former editor of the Boston Phoenix, he has also written for the Atlantic Monthly, Rolling Stone and numerous other publications. A St. Louis native, Mr. Barnes recently published his third book, Never Been A Time, which explores the 1917 East St. Louis race riots that sparked the civil rights movement across America.

Art Saint Louis teamed up with the St. Louis Public Library Foundation’s Young Literati to present this casual evening during which guests had the opportunity to converse with Mr. Barnes and each other about his latest book as well as view and discuss Art Saint Louis' new exhibition, “America the Beautiful & Beyond". Never Been A Time was available for purchase through booksellers Left Bank Books at this event.

An Evening in the Gallery with Harper Barnes was free & open to the public. Wine hosting provided by Mary Michelle Winery, with complimentary hors d’oeuvres, and sweets from Companion. Click here to download the flyer.

       

 


METROPOLIS WINE CLUB

Pinots, Patterns and Pixels

Thank you to the Metropolis Wine Club for visiting Art Saint Louis on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Over 80 guests joined us to enjoy varieties of Pinots (Noir, Grigio, Gris and Blanc) while socializing and viewing the "Patterns and Pixels" exhibition at Art St Louis' new Downtown gallery.

ART SAINT LOUIS AT THE FAIR

THANK YOU to our fabulous volunteers and to everyone who stopped in to visit the Art Saint Louis t-shirt painting booth throughout the day at at Fair Saint Louis on July 4, 2008.

With a full line-up of talent and activities complimented by a beautiful day, this year's Fair St. Louis enjoyed spectacular crowds. The Art Saint Louis booth was hoppin' with young artists creating their very own wearable masterpieces. A great deal of fun was had by guests and volunteers.

Our wearable art featured the winning design created by Mrs. Callahan's 4th Grade Art Class at Kennerly Elementary, St. Louis. The compeition was open to classrooms across the bi-state area and the winning piece was selected by Art Saint Louis' artist members Gail Cassily and Libby Reuter and guest artist Anne Martin.

ART SAINT LOUIS SERVES IT UP at rBAR

Thank you to everyone who stepped out on a blustery night to join Art Saint Louis for "Serving a Cause" at rBar on April 11, 2008.

rBar's "Serving a Cause" event generously provided that all cash tips went to Art Saint Louis, and our little fund raiser was a success--so, thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped a great cause.

 


GALLERY SHOWER

Thank you to our great volunteers, staff, generous donors, and the 70+ guests who joined us on February 24, 2008 for our Gallery Shower event held at Art Saint Louis' NEW home at 555 Washington Avenue, Suite 150 (1st floor) in downtown St. Louis.

UNWIND
