ABOUT ART SAINT LOUIS

For over 22 years, Art Saint Louis has worked to cultivate an appreciation for the role that visual artists play in our community. We fulfill our mission by creating and presenting original exhibitions, educational programming and support services to benefit artists and the community. Our proactive efforts help artists achieve professional success and reach new audiences.

Art Saint Louis is a registered not-for-profit organization with the State of Missouri and has Federal 501 (c)(3) status.

LOCATION

Art Saint Louis is located at 555 Washington Avenue, #150, St. Louis, MO 63101.

As of May 1, 2008, Art Saint Louis' new home is located in the 555 Washington Building in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. The Gallery is situated one block East of the Convention Center.

PARKING & TRANSIT

Art Saint Louis is easily accessible by MetroLink with the Convention Center Station at 6th & Washington mere steps away from our front door. MetroBus stops at 6th & Washington.

There are several parking garages and lots near Art Saint Louis. For a quick list, click here, or download a Downtown Parking Guide here. Parking meters are few & far between, although some can be found on Lucas (between 6th & Broadway) and on Broadway.

GALLERY & OFFICE HOURS

Art Saint Louis is FREE and open to the public Monday through Friday 10AM-5PM and Saturday 10AM-4PM

Closed Sundays & holidays, including the July 4 weekend.

Art Saint Louis presents exhibits year-round in our downtown Gallery and at off-site locations, in addition, we maintain an Image Registry of member artists' works, manage Art Leasing & Purchasing programs, present our "Voices" education and exhibition program at area schools, produce an annual Membership & Resource Directory, and a variety of services for artists and the community at-large.

Art Saint Louis also offers individual Portfolio Reviews and art-related counseling (by appointment) for member and non-member visual artists.

In addition to our juried gallery exhibits, we curate member artists' works for exhibition at various sites outside the Art Saint Louis Gallery. Current Off-Site Exhibit locations include: Arts in Transit/Metro, Fleishman-Hillard, KitchenK, St. Louis Development Corporation, St. Louis RCGA, Wild Flower Restaurant & Bar, and World Trade Center, St. Louis. Art Saint Louis Juried Exhibitions are open to artists aged 21 and older residing within a 200-mile radius of St. Louis. New exhibits are presented every eight weeks. In addition to our St. Louis regional exhibitions, we present one show a year open to artists in nine Midwest regional states: Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucy, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma & Tennessee. These exhibits are "Fiber Focus" (presented in odd-numbered years) and "New Works/9 States" (presented in even-numbered years).

Membership is encouraged, however it is not a pre-requisite to enter or exhibit in any Art Saint Louis juried exhibit. The majority of exhibits are juried from the actual artwork, although several shows are juried by jpegs on CD.
