HOPS ART 2008

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Hops Art '08 on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The joint was Hopping and the Art was spectacular. Our 100+ enthusiastic guests included artists, arts patrons, gallery owners, friends, and beer lovers who joined us for an enjoyable evening of great art, food and beverages.

Holding our second annual Hops Art event in the new Art Saint Louis gallery proved to be a huge success. This year's Hops Art featured an exhibition with 60 artworks on the gallery walls and five digital image exhibitions featuring 370 artworks by 74 St. Louis area artists. The digital presentations were viewable on 4 laptop computers as well as being projected on a Gallery wall.

In addition to viewing fine art, guests sampled tasty nibbles and spreads from Onesto, Fu Manchu, Crabcakes Creative, Tocco Foods, Frazer's, Glenn Scrivner, and our Hops Art Committee. Thirteen different beers were available for tasting including: Samuel Adams Light and Octoberfest; Blue Moon; Pabst Blue Ribbon; Schlafly's Kolsch, Pale Ale & ESB; Pilsner Urquell; Boulevard Porter and Ale; and Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat.

A Very Special Thank You to our Benefit Committee. These fantastic individuals worked tirelessly to make Hops Art '08 a success: Marianne Baer, Greg Barth, Christine Malinee, Jennifer Merlo, Nicole Petrescu, David Pocost, Amy Firestone Rosen, Libby Reuter, Andrea Vadner, and Justin Visnesky. Art Saint Louis' first annual event was held Sunday, October 21, 2007, 3:30-7PM at Schlafly Tap Room, 2100 Locust Street in downtown St. Louis.

Hops Art featured digital slide presentation highlighting artworks by 50+ St. Louis area artists, a silent auction with art-related items, and a special buffet dinner created by the Schlafly chefs and designed to complement their handcrafted beers. Click here to view the invitation.
